Internationales Flair im Eissportzentrum Schongau …
Kurz vor dem Jahreswechsel ging es im Schongauer Eissportzentrum sportlich nochmals richtig zur Sache. Auf Anfrage der Amity High School Spartans (Woodbridge/Connecticut/USA) ein Schülerfreundschaftsspiel austragen zu wollen war die Eislaufabteilung bei der Realisierung gerne behilflich. Eishockeyspieler des Schongauer Schulzentrums waren schnell gefunden, zumal die meisten Teilnehmer ohnehin der Abteilung im normalen Ligabetrieb angehören.
Die junge High School Truppe aus den USA befindet sich zu einem Schüleraustausch in Deutschland und war am 29.12.2016 zu Gast im Schongauer Land. Die perfekte Kulisse als Austragungsort war mit dem Gastgeber der EA Schongau ideal besetzt, denn auf eine entsprechend jahrelange Erfahrung bei der Realisierung von Großveranstaltungen kann die Eislaufabteilung zurückgreifen.
Nach dem Aufwärmtraining eröffneten die beiden Nationalhymnen das offizielle Eishockeyspiel. Beide Teams starteten in eine spannende und vor allem schnelle Spielbegegnung, die von jedem Spieler alles abverlangte. Auf Schongauer Seite musste man sich zunächst in der zugegebenermaßen neuen Konstellation zusammenfinden, denn diese Schongauer Schülermannschaft traf im Leben das erste Mal zusammen. Für die Trainer Björn Michels und Robert Kienle eine ganz besondere Herausforderung aus diesem Haufen in kürzester Zeit ein Team zu formen. Im Spiel jedoch war von der zusammengewürfelten Truppe keine Unsicherheit zu spüren, denn der Kampf beider Teams beflügelte die Mannschaften zu einem vorläufigen Endstand von 5:5 Toren. Die Entscheidung musste einen Sieger im Penaltyschießen ermitteln. Erst zu diesem Zeitpunkt verließen die Nerven auf Schongauer Seite so manchen Spieler und am Ende gewannen die Gäste aus den USA die Partie mit 6:5 n.P.
Die Eislaufabteilung konnte einmal mehr unter Beweis stellen große Eventveranstaltungen zu realisieren, so EAS Pressesprecher Uwe Hofmann. Hofmann äußerte vorab: „Mit der im Sommer geplanten Pfaffenwinkel Gewerbeschau wird das Eissportzentrum Schongau eine in der Region gleichermaßen bekannte Regionalmesse für die Verbraucher seinem Publikum präsentieren“.

The young high school group from the USA is to a student exchange in Germany and was on the 29.12.2016 guest in the Schongauer country. After the warm-up training, the two national anthems opened the official ice-hockey game. Both teams started in an exciting and, above all, fast game contest, which demanded everything from every player. On the Schongauer side, one had to be together in the new constellation, because this Schongauer pupil met the first time in life. For the trainers Björn Michels and Robert Kienle a very special challenge from this group in a short time to form a team. There was no uncertainty about the team in the match, as the two sides‘ struggling winged the teams to a provisional score of 5: 5. The decision had to find a winner in penalties. At that time the nerves on the Schongauer side left so many players and in the end the guests from the USA won the game with 6: 5 n.P.
The ice skating department was once again able to showcase large event events, according to EAS Press Officer, Uwe Hofmann.
